The Esher Bishops Walking Rugby Team will be playing in the first ever walking rugby match to be played in Ireland on November 16th.

The ten players will travel by British Airways to Dublin on the 15th November and play their opposition at Terenure RFC the following day. Terenure 1st team are the current All Ireland champions finishing one point above Cork Constitution last season.

The Esher WR team, who have paid for the trip themselves, have also been invited to have lunch with the Terenure club and will be staying on to watch their first team match against Garryowen RFC.

With Ireland playing Argentina in the evening of 15th Nov and England playing  South Africa the following day the 16th,, the weekend looks to be fast moving !!

Following on from the Saturday match the Esher WR team will also be demonstrating walking rugby to the rest of Terenure supporters, mums, dads, and their kids on the Sunday morning.

Walking rugby has been played at Esher for many years now and the Esher Bishops enjoy regular walk outs and visits through  Southern  England and the West Country, playing in both tournaments and festivals.

The team train and play every Monday evening 6pm to 7.30pm and Friday morning from 10am to 11.30am. If you are over 50 years old, it is a great way to keep fit and socialise with friends and colleagues. All are welcome.
